Black-Tie Optional

We would love for our guests to dress up with us! For men, a tuxedo is welcome but completely optional; a dark, well-tailored suit and conservative tie work perfectly. For women, we recommend a floor-length evening gown, an elegant midi-length dress, or dressy evening separates.

The best way to travel around the lake is by water. The public ferry network (Navigazione Laghi) acts as the area's main highway, allowing you to skip narrow, winding roads and stressful parking. Downloading the Navigazione Laghi app or buying your day passes online in advance will allow you to skip the long lines at the dock!

• For Hop-On, Hop-Off Sightseeing: Use the frequent mid-lake shuttle ferries to move easily between central towns like Bellagio, Varenna, and Menaggio.

• For Longer Distances: Take the rapid hydrofoil (Servizio Rapido) if you are traveling all the way from Como town up to the central lake.

We will be providing a shuttle operating throughout the entire night of the wedding.

The shuttle will pick everyone up from a central hub, transport you to our ceremony venue, take everyone to the reception dinner, and finally drive us back into Como town for our night out.

The Shuttle Route & Schedule:

• Initial Pickup: Como City Center, address TBD ➔ To the Venue

• After the Ceremony: From the Venue ➔ To the Dinner Reception

• End of the Night: From the Dinner Reception ➔ To Como Town for the Night Out

For the best experience, we recommend staying in the central lake area (the "Golden Triangle"), which offers the most scenic views and the easiest ferry access:

• Varenna (Best for Convenience): A romantic town with a direct train link to Milan and a major ferry port. Perfect if you aren't renting a car.

• Bellagio (The Classic Postcard Vibe): Vibrant, upscale, and famous for its cobblestone shopping alleys and central location on the water.

• Como Town (Best City Energy): A lively city at the south end of the lake with great nightlife, restaurants, and easy train access.

• Menaggio or Tremezzo (Best for Resorting): Relaxed western-shore towns offering grand historic hotels, beautiful villas, and fewer crowds.

Tip: If you choose a charming villa in a smaller village (like Nesso or Argegno), just double-check the ferry schedule first, as boats stop there less frequently than in the main hubs!

September is widely considered the absolute "sweet spot" on Lake Como — you can expect average daytime highs around 22°C to 24°C(low-to-mid 70s°F) with plenty of sunshine.

Once the sun dips behind the mountains, temperatures drop quickly to around 13°C to 15°C (mid-50s°F), and the lake breeze can feel quite crisp. Be sure to pack a light jacket, blazer, or pashmina shawl for the evening events!

Must-Dos

• Rent a Private Motorboat: Hands down the #1 experience. Rent a small, classic Italian boat to captain yourself (no license required!) or do a small group tour. The views of the cliffside villas from the water are unmatched.

• Tour the Historic Villas: If you only pick one or two, go to Villa del Balbianello for its iconic, ivy-draped terraced gardens, or Villa Carlotta for its massive, beautiful estate.

• Explore Bellagio & Varenna: Spend an afternoon wandering the steep, cobblestone alleyways of Bellagio and walking along Varenna’s romantic waterfront Lovers’ Promenade.

Great If You Have Time

• Ride the Brunate Funicular: A historic hillside railway in Como town that climbs 2,300 feet in minutes for incredible panoramic views of the lake and the Alps.

• Walk the Greenway: A relaxed, scenic lakeside path winding through sleepy stone villages. It is completely flexible, so you can hop on or off whenever you want a gelato break.

• Hike to Castello di Vezio: Medieval ruins perched high above Varenna featuring ancient dungeons and dramatic aerial views. (Be prepared for a steep uphill walk!)
